The Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), in collaboration with Astra Property, recently hosted a new series of Architalks. This event delved into the emerging world of tall structures, offering an engaging exploration of their intricacies and possibilities. Themed “Moving Skywards: Unveiling the Art of Highrise,” this discussion aimed to uncover the many facets of vertical architecture. It was a privilege for Anggara Architeam to contribute to this remarkable occasion, as our Founder, Budi Sumaatmadja, shared his wisdom as one of the speakers.
Mr. Budi’s enthralling presentation dove into the compelling reasons for building tall. He walked us through how tall buildings are categorized and the criteria used to define them, providing a thorough understanding. Beyond definitions, Budi’s talk unveiled the global journey of tall structures, tracing their evolution across time, function, location, and materials.
The conversation also shone light on the challenges that come with creating tall buildings.
