Who We Are

Established in 1995, Anggara Architeam stands as a acclaimed architectural firm renowned for its mastery of high-rise projects. With a rich legacy spanning decades, the firm has played a pivotal role in shaping Jakarta's distinctive skyline by seamlessly blends contemporary and vernacular design elements with cutting-edge technology, resulting in iconic structures that redefine urban landscapes.

Our Story

Established in 1995 by Budi Sumaatmadja, Anggara Architeams was born out of Budi’s unwavering commitment to continuous learning and his enterprising spirit. The company’s early years were marked by its foundational project, the second tower of the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE), which has since evolved into the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This landmark undertaking, a collaboration with a New York-based architecture consultant, reflected Anggara’s commitment to global partnerships.

The completion of the JSE tower in 1997 coincided with Indonesia’s severe monetary crisis, causing disruptions in various projects, including Anggara’s ambitious 51-story Graha Kuningan. The economic downturn compelled the company to make tough decisions, leading to a significant reduction in its workforce, ultimately leaving just five dedicated employees. Despite these challenges, Anggara Architeams navigated through adversity, showcasing resilience in the face of unforeseen circumstances. The early setbacks and subsequent strategic adaptations laid the groundwork for the company’s future development, shaping its trajectory in the dynamic world of architecture.

The Indonesian economy’s resurgence in 2000 marked a turning point for the company. This marked a significant turning point for the company as it experienced a notable upswing with the initiation of various impactful projects. Among these notable developments were the expansion of Plaza Senayan, the establishment of the Grand Indonesia shopping mall, the creation of Lippo Kemang Village, and the construction of JSE Tower 2. These projects not only added to the architectural landscape of Indonesia but also played a pivotal role in the company’s trajectory.

As Anggara Architeams delved into these high-profile projects, the significance of collaboration with foreign consultants became increasingly apparent, providing the company with invaluable opportunities to embrace innovative work methods and adhere to high international standards. The mix of different viewpoints and methods expanded the company’s knowledge and made Anggara a significant player in architecture. Developing high-end projects and adopting global best practices highlighted the company’s adaptability and dedication to top-notch projects. This growth period established Anggara Architeams as a forward-thinking and globally engaged architectural firm.

This development exemplifies the company’s commitment to achieving international benchmarks and contributes significantly to its growing portfolio.

In addition to these collaborations, Anggara Architeams has left an indelible mark with notable projects like Neo Soho (Podomoro City) and Praxis Mixed-Use. These ventures not only showcase the firm’s architectural prowess but also play a pivotal role in solidifying its esteemed reputation within the industry.
